:: she’s waiting for home

Jon and Lara Dinsmore are blog friends who endeared themselves to Rachel and I by bringing us SweetTarts and baby medicine at a time when we had just run out of both. We met them just days after Ali Rose joined our little home and have had the sweet privilege of following along with their adoption of Ambrose – an adorable, snuggly, 4 year old who turned the Dinsmore’s oldest, Cade, into an instant twin! They have been such beautiful examples of what it looks like to follow God’s heart throughout all of the ups and downs of the adoption process.

Lara has faithfully prayed for our Ugandan kiddos and, throughout our time in Uganda, was the consistent deliverer of encouragement and American goodies. I had the sweet privilege of photographing their “Gotcha Day” with Ambrose back in September and today, I have the opportunity to tell you some exciting news about their family:

They’re adopting again!!

Mary is 8 years old and has been waiting for a long time – waiting for a family and a home. The Dinsmores didn’t think they were heading into another adoption when Lara visited Uganda a few months ago, but when she met Mary, that all changed. They knew she was their daughter and they’ve been scurrying to bring her home as soon as possible. As you can imagine, completing one adoption in 2011 and another in 2012 is not something that’s easily managed on your average family budget. Let me just say that I am one person who does NOT want Mary to have to wait in an orphanage because there wasn’t enough money to bring her home FAST.

The Give1Save1 team has picked the Dinsmores as their Family of the Week and we have the privilege of being a part of Mary’s homecoming.

1. Go to Give1Save1 and donate $1 (or more, if you’re feelin’ extra generous!)

2. Share this blog post on your social media outlet of choice (Facebook, Pinterest, blogs, Twitter)

3. Go over to Lara’s blog and leave her a comment letting her know you’re praying for Mary to come home SOON!

4. Watch the Dinsmore’s video and leave a comment: https://vimeo.com/47829878

If you do any or all of the above, leave a comment and tell me how many things you did to stand up for Mary’s life.

(Example: “We want Mary to come home and we did THREE things to show that we are standing for her!”)

I’ll enter all of the comments in a drawing (one chance for each thing) for a Ugandan Bead Necklace and earring set!

Thank you for being a part of this little girl’s journey to a forever home.

Sara - Praying for Mary to come home! I did 2 of the things to help bring her home :)

April - A former student teacher of mine shared this amazing story on her Facebook page, and because of that, I chose to stand up for Mary’s life in all 4 ways that you recommended. With God, all things are possible! I cannot wait for the day that Mary comes home! God bless!!!!

Margaret - I’ve been following the Lara’s blog for awhile, and so appreciate her perspective. So thankful for people like you also using your platform to support Kingdom work. I’m excited that I could participate in three ways to stand up for Mary’s life!

Jill - Praying for Mary… did three of the four :)

Lisa Syler - I did ‘em all, sister! Just returned from Uganda at the end of June, and cannot wait to see how God blesses this entire situation. Though we’ve never met before I’ve been following you for a long long time!

Blessings, MJ!
