Newborns are my favorite. Hands down. THIS baby, however, might just be the most beautiful 5 day old I have ever seen. He is absolutely perfect from head to toe and was so cooperative for today’s photos.

Sometimes I get all wrapped up in whatever I need to accomplish in a shoot and forget to actually stop and enjoy the sweet baby right in front of me. The best part about this morning was that I got some good snuggles with Banks in between different set-ups. I also got to resurrect my pro-baby-swaddling skills that have been on the shelf since Ali Rose got too wiggly to swaddle. I love a tiny baby in a tight swaddle. They just relax and feel so snug and safe.

Banks weighed in at a perfect 8lbs 2oz. Crazy to think that one day he’ll be a big, handsome man with his mama’s beautiful brown hair. And if he’s anything like his daddy, he’ll be a great dad.

I always feel so proud of myself when I can capture one of those elusive gassy baby smiles. They’re the sweetest.

And can I just say that this baby’s nursery had me feeling like I had just stepped into Pinterest.com. I mean seriously?

If you’re interested in booking a newborn session, I have openings during the last two weeks of September and several in October and November. Newborn sessions should be done within 7 days of birth, so obviously they’re hard to schedule. If you contact me in advance, though, I can plan to be flexible whenever your  little one chooses to arrive!
