:: a Welter family reunion [hilton head family photography]

I love family reunions. The chaos, the goofiness, the inside jokes and sideways glances between adult siblings – it’s all just fun to observe. Yesterday was no exception. If you’re a regular reader, you know the Hagertys, but this was my first time getting to meet some of their extended family who I had only heard about for so long. I loved getting to see Lily playing with the cousins and aunts and uncles we looked at pictures of last year. We practiced saying their names and imagined how tall they might be and now here they are! So fun!

This first family was a blast to capture because each child had fun ideas they wanted to try. I LOVE that! So, you’re not seeing them all here, but we made silly faces and jumped up in the air and quickly made our way through about 250 pictures…

I love the difference between these two pictures. Mimi’s little eyes looking up at her brother are just darling!

look at their eyes! Don’t they just exude the fact that they know how deeply they’re loved?

and of course we needed pictures with Nana:)

This sweet family brought brand new Luke to the beach for his first family reunion this year. As much as I love photographing babies, it’s so hard to take their pictures and not just sit there and snuggle them. Luke was a little overwhelmed by all the noise and people and light AND it actually started raining in the middle of their shoot, but he was a great little sport. Can you tell he is adored by his mama and daddy?

oh and these sweet Hagertys. Love ‘em.

We were running out of light on the beach, so I didn’t do individual portraits of the Hagerty littles, but here are a few from my time with them last week. Aren’t they just beautiful? I wanted to stay there on the grass, laying on our tummies, and listen to them for hours.

Nana with all the grandkids…what a good looking bunch!

and check this out – we got everyone off the ground at the same time on the FIRST try! That’s unheard of!

Thank you all for letting me descend on your family gathering and snap some photos! Can’t wait for next year!
